The Nation celebrates good times in the woods this weekend September 27th!

Around the country this weekend outdoors men and women will celebrate our long held traditions of hunting and fishing!

The great thing about this national event is that not only is it a celebration of our passions but it's about US! "Us" being the American hunters and anglers who play a strategic role in protecting and conserving our wildlife and wild places across our nation. It's a message that doesn't get conveyed enough and I'm thankful that Congress and President Nixon signed it into law back in 1972. So, since then, on the fourth Saturday of September each year, events are held nationwide to celebrate.

Here in NC the Wildlife Resources Commission will hold two events in the state and we will be attending the one at the John Lentz Hunter Education Complex in Ellerbe! It will kick off at 10am and go to 2pm!

at 1017 Millstone Road in Ellerbe, NC

For those in the mountains, the NCWRC will co-host an event with Haywood Community College that will be held on campus at 185 Freelander Dr., in Clyde, NC.

Come and see us! We always love meeting and talking hunting and fishing with our fellow outdoors-people!!
